After contrasting starts to the group stage, Genk and Dinamo Zagreb will square off in the second round of Europa League fixtures on Thursday.
After finishing second in the Belgian top flight last season, Racing Genk earned a place in the qualifying rounds for the upcoming Champions League, and were handed a tough draw against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. Genk are now second in Group H only by virtue of goal-difference against West Ham United, who beat Zagreb 2-0 on the opening day.
Dinamo Zagreb entered the Champions League qualification rounds after winning the Croatian top flight, and they cruised past Valur and Omonia Nicosia, before grinding out a hard-fought 2-1 aggregate win over Polish side Legia Warsaw. Dinamo Zagreb eked out a narrow 1-0 win away to Austrian side Rapid Wien in their previous Champions League game.
Genk have a deadly lineup of attackers, they’ ve scored at least two goals in each of the last three outings in the domestic league. It’s believed that they should take advantage of momentum and see off Dinamo Zagreb.
