NBA Match Preview -- Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks meet Wednesday in NBA action at the State Farm Arena.

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have endured two recent injury blows that could impact their performance against the Boston Celtics. The Atlanta Hawks stumbled out of the gate for head coach Nate McMillan and rank third worst in the league in defensive efficiency. On Sunday, Atlanta outscored Orlando by 14 points during the second half to pull away for a 129-111 home victory.  Trae Young and John Collins led Atlanta with 23 points apiece on a combined 15-for-33 from the field. The Atlanta Hawks are averaging 108.9 points on 45.3 percent shooting and allowing 110.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting.

NBA Match Preview -- Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics

This season, the Celtics have fallen against teams with different playing styles. That has proved that it isn't only their defense that has underwhelmed, but also they rank an uncharacteristic 23rd in the league in offensive efficiency. On Monday, Boston were able to make the plays down the stretch of a 98-92 road victory against Cleveland. All-Star F Jayson Tatum led five Boston players in double figures with 23 points and eight rebounds. The Boston Celtics are averaging 107.2 points on 43.9 percent shooting and allowing 106.1 points on 43.3 percent shooting.

Although Tatum is an absolute beast of a scorer, the Boston Celtics are incomplete without Jaylen Brown. Meanwhile, the Hawks have five players, even in the absence of Hunter and Huerter, who can easily score in double digits. Considering the same, the recalibrating Atlanta Hawks could defeat the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
